John M. White began his career as a civil engineer with the Federal Highway Administration as a Field Engineer. Following 5 years as an engineer, he worked in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner for automobile transmissions and control systems. Mr. White entered private practice in 1987, and started his own firm, Longacre & White, in 1988. In 1998, Mr. White merged his firm with Liniak & Berenato. He has more than 30 years experience in all aspects of intellectual property, including patent and trademark prosecution, litigation, infringement and validity analysis and opinion writing. Mr. White has served as an expert witness in numerous patent litigation matters and has also successfully argued before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Office Board of Appeals and Interferences.

John M. White was born in Bern, Switzerland, on November 07, 1961, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1983. Mr. White received his law degree from George Washington University in 1987. Mr. White was a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. White was a founding partner of the firm of Longacre & White after leaving his associate position at Cushman, Darby & Cushman in 1988. Mr. White is the founder and principal lecturer for Practising Law Institute Patent Bar Review Course, with a twelve location 50-hour, 5 day live lecture, study guide and assignment based course from 1996 to present. Mr. White is also the designer and creator for the Practicing Law Institute (PLI), New York; course series, How to Prosecute Patents, a 16 hour video/online lecture series for recent patent bar admittees.
